Snow White is a 5-year-old, approximately 48-pound girl with a soft heart and a gentle nature. She had a difficult start in the shelter and found the busy, unfamiliar environment overwhelming, but even when she was frightened, she consistently showed that her instinct was to retreat rather than confront. With patient handling, she allowed people to leash her, walk with her, pet her, and help her through situations that clearly felt very big to her.
There are already little glimpses of the dog underneath all that uncertainty. Snow White has quietly chosen to stay near people she feels safe with, accepted affection, followed her handler, and even settled down to rest beside them. She is the kind of dog whose trust may be earned in small steps at first—but those small steps mean a lot.
Snow White also had an especially rough time medically while she was in the shelter. She developed a bad case of CIRDC and became quite sick. Additional testing came back negative and she is now on the mend and getting better each day. After everything her body and nervous system have been dealing with, what she needs most is a calm place where she can finish recovering, decompress, and begin learning what life outside the shelter feels like.
She isn't asking someone to rush her into becoming a different dog. Snow White needs a person willing to give her time, consistency, gentle handling, and the freedom to build confidence at her own pace. In return, you get the privilege of watching a worried little dog gradually realize that she is safe—and getting to know the Snow White who has been waiting underneath all along.
