Harmony is a gentle young girl with a soft personality and a naturally cautious approach to new situations. She was described as mellow before coming to the shelter and has shown that she can be comfortable living loose in a home environment. She has also done well around other dogs and has been observed sniffing and playing appropriately with a larger dog.
Harmony can be shy when she is unsure of her surroundings, but she responds well to patient, low-pressure handling. As she starts to feel safer, she begins to show more curiosity, offers little tail wags, approaches people on her own and settles closer to them. She has consistently allowed gentle handling, petting and leashing, even when she was nervous.
Other dogs seem to help Harmony relax. Around a calm neighboring dog, her body language softened noticeably and she became wiggly and more comfortable interacting with people. A confident, easygoing canine companion could be a nice match for her.
Harmony will do best in a home that gives her time to settle in without rushing her. A predictable routine, calm handling and gradual introductions to new experiences will help her confidence grow. She is still very young, and with the right environment, she has plenty of time to become a much more comfortable, curious and affectionate version of herself.
