Meet Bones, a tiny black kitten with a very big will to live.
Bones came to us at about 5 to 6 weeks old weighing just 6 ounces, which is a fraction of what a kitten his age should weigh. He was severely emaciated and weak, and we knew right away he was in trouble. We started him on round-the-clock dropper feedings, but by Thursday we honestly didn't think he was going to make it.
On Friday he went to the emergency vet, where he got fluids, antibiotics, and medication to clear out the parasites that were robbing him of every calorie. And then Bones decided he had other plans.
Every day since, he's gotten a little stronger. The light is back in his eyes, he's eating like a champ, and he's showing us exactly what a sweetheart he is. He loves being held close, and he has some serious opinions about which kitten food is best.
Bones is not available for adoption just yet. He has a lot of healing and growing to do first. But in a few weeks, once he's healthy and strong, this little fighter will be ready to find his forever home. If you're already falling for him, keep an eye on this page, because he's going to make someone very lucky.
Until then, you can be part of his comeback story. Every can of food and every supplement goes directly into getting Bones (and his brothers Seeley, Sweets, and Zack) back on their feet.
